If you've got working Wi-Fi but your wired ethernet connection is not working, the first thing to do is turn off the Wi-Fi  If Wi-Fi is disabled and you're still not getting a network connection, make sure that ethernet is enabled in the same Network and Internet Settings section. Find the right network.

Fix Ethernet Not Working in Windows 10 [SOLVED] ... Try to connect the ethernet cable to another port on the router, as chances are the particular port might be damaged. Try to use another cable, as the cable itself might be damaged. Try to unplug the cable then again reconnect.

Reboot, make sure cable connected properly, try another cable in case cable is issue.  If your router has multiple ports try another one.

First, try a reboot. Sometimes the network gets a self assigned IP address instead of the correct one.  Windows 10 allows you to also right click on that network icon  and trouble shoot problems. Windows will actually run a number of resets and fixes that can sometimes fix issues with an adapter.  Ultimately, knowing what you mean by "reset the adapter" might assist in a better answer. :)

when you say reset, what did you do? if you removed drivers, you would need to reinstall them to get it to work.

if that's not it, then try a different cable, or re-seat it.
