Why does YouTube demonetize videos if certain words are used?

    YouTube doesn't do anything. it is the advertisers themselves that choose what content they want to be tied to. can you blame big name "family-based" companies for not wanting to be tied to profanity?

    besides, it's not that hard to "not swear". unless of course you have low self-control, which is on you, not YouTube.

    personally, i'm not against profanity, but i can control myself.

    When you sign up for an account, you agree to abide by their rules.  Do you not remember reading the Terms of Use agreement and clicking on "Accept"?  lol

    I suppose the people behind YT think they are inherently "bad".  SOME words, perhaps (though relating what OTHER people say just seems kind of weird), but words like "Hell" are just words, and are just like saying "London" or "New York"...
