where does the water come from in a window type air conditioner?

    It comes from the moisture that condenses on the evaporator that chills the air.

    It is the moisture in the atmosphere, the humidity.  It's endless, unless you're in a desert.

    It condenses out of the air. Air contains water vapor.

    Cold air holds less water than warm air. When you cool the air down the excess water falls out and forms condensation on the evaporator coils.
