Ovulation test question?
Once I get negative ovulation tests after positive ones does that mean that ovulation already occurred?

The test is reading the hormone levels that indicate ovulation should happen.
Those tests DO NOT guarantee that ovulation is ACTUALLY happening.
Once the hormone levels no longer show up on a test, then it is very likely that ovulation has happened and the egg is either dead or will be dead soon. Ovulation usually happens near the end of the hormone surge so even when the test is negative, the egg MIGHT still be viable for a little longer.
If you are trying to get pregnant - have sex ASAP but it may already be too late. When trying to get pregnant, sex when you see the surge beginning is better. (sex at least every other day increases the chances of success.)
If you are trying to avoid pregnancy - then wait at least 48 more hours to be sure the egg has died. (the egg usually only lives 12 to 24 hours once released) Using this as a method of birth control is almost as risky as pulling out. One mistake in testing and pregnancy becomes possible.

Ovulation occurs 24-36 hours after LH peaks.
