Homework for phyiscs help??

A student sets up a Fletcher’s Trolley, where Block 1, on the

table, has a mass of 0.450 kg and Block 2, suspended off the

side of the table, has a mass of 0.766 kg. Assume the mass of

the rope and friction are negligible.

1) Calculate the acceleration of the system. Show all work starting with freebody diagrams and net force equations for each block.

2) Calculate the magnitude of the tension in the rope. Show all work.


3) What would be the acceleration of the system if the tension in the rope

were equal to the weight of Block 2? Explain.
