Was it a mistake to stop taking cymbalta so suddenly?

I was on 120mg for many months now and all it did was make me feel slightly less depressed and anxious, almost like just allowing me to barely survive. I wanted to go back to no meds to see how I feel and where I need to improve. I don't like relying on this medication to allow me to go in circles and not go anywhere in life. The only  withdrawals I get that stands out is brain zaps and >>>increased depression<<< which is basically how I felt before I was out on the meds.
