the Green Berets of course the USMC are Just the Navy's soldiers

they did nothing in Europe WW2 and very little since they are out of date and spending 25 years being trained by Australians

is it really going to take that long to bring them up to Australian standards

Special Forces guys vs run of the mill Marines?     That is like asking who would win,   a troop of boy scouts or a SWAT team.

A green beret is more likely to be rendered "hors de combat" by a Marine.

    Green Beret's think and Reason.

Marine's follow Orders, mindlessly for the most part. (Grunts)

This is an apples and oranges comparison.  There are about 5,500 Green Berets.  They represent a sub-set of the US Army with specific missions in unconventional warfare, reconnaissance, and Counter-terrorism.  They most often act as instructors for foreign militaries.  There are 182.000 Marines.  A US Marine can be anything from a payroll clerk to Force Recon.  A Marine payroll clerk is far more combat trained than an Army payroll clerk.  Force Recon is far tougher than a Green Beret.  A Green Beret is tougher than the average Marine from the Fleet Marine Force.  Apples and oranges.
