    an invariable form of some sort, is about the best I can say.  Context matters of course, but the general idea remains one of "that is the predictable and expected form that the thing makes when it exists".  the absence of such a form is lack of structure.

    Structure where two metal ions are connected or bridged by several connecting ligands.

    As for example, most copper(II) carboxylates display the dinuclear paddle-wheel cage structure which consists of two copper centers bridged by four carboxylate molecules and each copper(II) is attached to a neutral ligand.
