What film has the most surprising ending?
mine is the end of The Long Good Friday (1979) when Hoskins comes out of the Savoy and waives his car over. He gets in the back and the car hurtles at high speed and he passes his distressed looking wife in another car screaming at him. The guy in th passenger seat is an IRA hit man (a young Piers Brosnan actually) with a pistol trained directly at Hoskins. The final shot of the film is just Hoskins' face as he gradually begins to realise that they're taking him off to be executed and there's absolutely nothing he can do about it. And its got really good music as well. Classic ending.

I mean, Sixth Sense was LITERALLY all about the twist ending, so that has to be pretty high on the list.
