Try setting it at 79 to get 77.  Seems out of calibration by 2 deg.

is the 75 reading on the unit or a thermometer?   If it is one of the 2 is out of calibration.  usually its the separate thermometer.  As I have made a easy service charge. To tell customer the cheap thermometer from wally world is junk .

Now if it the tstat doing this then something is wrong with the stat or its programmed wrong. Usually Cool has a 1 degree swing.

this is controlled by your thermostat, not by the a/c unit

    So calibrate it then.

It is probably how it is programmed.
