Why stop everything for a virus that has a 98% recovery rate?

That means only 6 million will die in the US. An acceptable number to get the economy growing again.

Actually it's much closer to 100% than 98%.

    - First, there's nowhere NEAR 2% mortality of the entire population nor even of those infected.

    - Before, we were considering only those hospitalized and tested as being "cases" and the ratio was based on those numbers.

    - As we test millions and millions almost at random, we're seeing that there are far more cases than we knew of and even dreamed of.

    - The new ratio must be around .05% or something. I'll check.

    - Also, we're using better and more effective prevention techniques and PPE.

    - The deaths would probably cap out at WAY under 2 million and many of those will have been very, very sick, already.

It has a close to 100% recovery rate.

Of the 150,000 who have died, a significant number died "with" Covid rather than "of" Covid. The vast number of those who died of Covid were elderly.

A large number of them would never have become ill if the governor of New York (1in 5 Covid deaths were in New York) had not forced Covid positive patients into nursing homes where they infected residents and killed them.

He did this even with a 1,000 bed hospital ship available to him which only ever saw under 200 patients.

Here in the real world USA, the deaths from the CCP virus are somewhat worse than the annual deaths from influenza, but only somewhat.  There also won't be even close to six million deaths.

It isn't the Black Death and only people already in very fragile are at risk of death. We can protect the vulnerable without destroying the economy.

that would be true if your analysis was correct. But if every healthy person contracted the virus the rate would shrink. Young healthy people are recovering at a much greater rate than 98%.

You have to think it through.

It's acceptable to me as long as you and your family die and not mine.
