How long before we can relocate our species? Carl Sagan talked about it. A beautiful tribute to him: https://youtu.be/L53VLatmv-A?

    Technologically speaking

    it is possible NOW.

    Practically speaking

because of the expense and risk

it will not be done until and unless

A - some EXTREMELY URGENT need to do so presents itself

B - some CLEARLY profitable endeavor presents itself

Be aware that Carl Sagan changed his opinions over time, as new information became available.

Maybe instead of looking up to the sky for assistance, or for an escape route, we should be looking around here on Earth to see how we can fix the mess we created.

The trick is finding somewhere to relocate to. There may be one or two moons associated with other planets that might be candidates but that is really a stretch. The truth is any habitable planets is light years away and we are not close to being able to travel those distances yet and are not likely to be in the next 100 years
