You have hit the nail on the head.
Do not get involved with jehoviah witnesses.
It is a cult, not of God, and very bad for your state of mind.
Do not have anything to do with religion,or anyone who is religious.
God dislikes religion, and he didn’t anybody to create a religion.
Instead, he desires relationship, which is a completely different thing.
Religion is man made, relationship is God made.
Read the gospel of John chapter 3,and you will see what Jesus said compared to what the Jehovah’s Witness tell you, and you will instantly see that what they tell you is opposite to the bible.

It will affect you mentally because you will become a better person. You will not hate but rather love your neighbor. You will be a more productive person. You will be a better husband and a better father. You will not get in trouble with the law. You will live longer because you will not smoke, get drunk, or use drugs. You will be a peaceful person. etc. and you will participate in helping others learn the Bible truths and more.

You will not get any more Christmas presents. They don't believe in Hell, but all of them will go there if they don't get saved before they die. It's another dumb cult. Why don't you read the Holy Bible and pray and ask God to reveal His truth to you. Don't waste your time on false religions. Seek and ye shall find, Knock and it will be opened unto you. Jesus is Truth and is the only way to eternal life. All other religions will lead you to Hell. Run from this bunch.
You will be deprived of God's truth.

I suggest that you don't ever contemplate doing that as, once you are in, you'll find it almost impossible to get out. If you find out the truth later you'll be shunned by EVERY member of that organization - even close family members. You'll be an outcast to them. If you need medical treatment which will need a blood transfusion they will disfellowship you if you accept the transfusion. You'll be like a leper to them. Don't even contemplate even going to one of their meetings out of curiosity.
Apparently by the answers of JWs on here, you can expect total subjugation of your independent thinking to the hive mentality.

You could become brainwashed.
The so-called Watchtower religion can book you a seat in hell, the word of God accuses them of being the antichrist?
So what difference does it make, in the position you are in now, to join the so-called Witnesses of the Watchtower, when you end up in hell anyway?
The extraordinary thing these religious use is, to make people believe that hell does not exist, when the word of God says on the Holy Bible that hell does exist! If you care about your salvation, look for a Christian church, and after your experiences with God, no one can change your confirmation!

If you are crazy enough to join them, there isn't much else they can do. The damage is already done.
