Can some one explain how the US government prints money and coins?

Can some one explain this quote to me? I’m getting confused what it is trying to say and how that works.

Quote With coin, that's easy, the Fed pays face value to the Mint/Treasury and the seigniorage reverts to the general fund. Quote

Seigniorage is the difference between face value and the cost to produce the item.
