Does anyone know how those original stimulus check amounts were calculated?  By income?  I got nowhere near $1200.?

Income and filing status.  The maximum was $600 for anyone who was single or married filing separately, and $1200 for a married couple filing jointly.  However, to get that much your income couldn't be more than $75,000 if single or married filing separately and $150,000 if married filing jointly.  If you made more than that, it was reduced $1 for each additional $20 that you made, so if you made over $99,000 if single or married filing separately and $198,000 if married filing jointly, you got nothing.

If filing single they reduced it by $5.00 for every $100 over $75,000,
