What is the value of ln(x) when ln(x)= e^-x?

This is one of those ugly non-linear equations which can't be solved analytically. The only way to do it, is to guess an answer, try it, see how it works, then try to guess a better one over and over again. Look up numerical methods like Gauss-Siedel iteration, or Newton-Raphson.
