How much you have to pay and what kind of services you can get.

    You would want

    A) Regular backup of your site's files

    B) Attention to the host site's root certificate (because if it expires, your site users get security errors)

    C) How much space you get on the host's disk farm

    D) Whether the host helps you set up the web pages (i.e. tech support, even if it costs a little more)

    E) Maximum bandwidth for the site

    F) Do they have a standby or hot recovery site?

    G) Do they have reasonable physical security of the site?

    H) Do they maintain some type of antivirus package?  (Doesn't matter if it is host-based or firewall-based.)

Plus David K brought up some good points too.

    What are your requirements?

Comes down to what you need and what you are willing to pay.

First, figure out what you need. MySQL? Subdomains? Addon domain? Apache server preference? cPanel vs other panel choices? Host backup choices? Tech support via email, online, or phone? Bandwidth requirement? Storage requirement? Dedicated IP address? SFTP? Some hosts offer all, some offer different combinations and all offer price packages.
