Honda 2005 civic ?

Hey I need help my cars rotors recently overheated and the brakes stoped working I paid a mechanic to change the rotors and put in new brakes he also installed a new caliper he test drive the car and everything was in order and I went for a 2 mile drive my car at first ran smoothly and then it just did the same thing I am beyond devestated my rotors were starting to overheat and I just left the car on the side of the street I tried bringing the car home and the gas wouldn't even move the car I desperately need to know what's going on

    Replace the master cylinder.

    Your master cylinder or proportioning valve may be faulty.  Is the parking brake engaged?
