Are there still purse snatchers?

I remember hearing a lot about them growing up in the 70s. Has cameras everywhere stopped this?

From where I am, there's a place called Quiapo. It's a snatcher's haven, even up to now.

Funny thing is that the place is widely known because of the church (minor basilica) and its miraculous patron saint. What many don't know is that the area was also the former location of the national penitentiary.

People just stopped in general. It's not because of Cameras. Maybe they realized that they can do other things to get money, even illegally.
