Can pedophiles change?

If pedophiles get enough therapy or something, can they stop being attracted to minors?

It is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children..... there is no law anywhere in the world that makes that illegal or criminal, it is taking those thoughts and actioning them that makes them criminals......... so can you change someones psychiatric disorder with therapy? No, however you can change some actioning there psychiatric disorder

There are treatments for this but they just lower the libido and stress lawfulness via cognitive behavioral therapy rather than shifting one's attractions. There are a few people afflicted with pedophilia who've never offended and have gone public with their struggles. So one can be a pedophile who fights the urges and ever victimizes a minor.

Can they change?  I don't think they can.

Yes, but it will just take heaps more than that. It’s ultimately up to or incumbent on them.

Most pedophiles never abuse kids. They know it’s criminal and immoral. Pedopilia is just a sexual preference albeit an unfortunate one. You can’t really change a persons sexual preference.
