How long does amoxicillin stay in your system?

I was recently on antibiotics and my last dose was this morning and I was wondering how long it took to completly leave your system. Will i still be fine to have dairy products such as milk ice cream butter and sweets like candy and chocolate? I read on the internet that it could take up to 12 hours. If so should i be alright to have dairy and sweet products?

It probably stays in your system for up to 24 hours.

I've never heard of 'avoiding' dairy and sweets, while taking it though?, just alcohol.

I'm unsure why you think or were told you can't consume dairy while on antibiotics. As a matter of fact, my doctor has always told me to eat yogourt while taking antibiotics to help replenish the good gut bacteria since antibiotics affect everything, good and bad.

Amoxicillin is an anti biotic. It is Supposed to stay in your system, fighting off an infection.

That being said however, there is no indications that you cannot consume dairy while taking the drug.

I'm not sure why you don't think you can dairy products.  There are no contraindications for any food while taking amoxicillin.
