Retail workers!!!! Is it okay to tell the customer no ?

    if what they're asking is against store policy, best to let the manager or supervisor explain.

    nope, especially not in retail or the food industry.

    No!  It is never okay to tell the customer no, when asked if he knows where the restroom is, or if he can help direct you to the location of a particular product.  His job is to "help" and telling a customer no is no help.

    Of course it is.  I could name a thousand things where you say no to a customer starting with, "Can I have 90% off this item?" and ending with "Can I pay for this by going in the backroom with your for 10 minutes?"
