How small is Disneyland compared to Disney World?

I’ve seen first hand how big Disney World is, despite only ever going there once so far, but I’ve never been to Disneyland yet. I’ve heard it’s much smaller.

It is much smaller.   Disneyland only has 2 theme parks and a Downtown Disney area (shopping/dining), while Disney World has 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, Disney Springs (shopping/dining), and the Wide World of Sports.  There are 3 hotels directly affiliated with Disneyland and considered "on property," while there are 19 such hotels (not counting the villas) on Disney World property.

You can do a solid Disneyland trip in 2-4 days, while a solid Disney World trip is going to take more like 5-9 days.
