It wasn’t when they made it but now it is. There were tons of books out and still coming out about the canon future up until a few years ago. But they’ve wrapped everything up and made them non canon now. In the new tv series Picard they talk about the destruction of Romulus from the movie and what it’s done to the galaxy.
