is it normal for 3y to refer to his belongings in 3rd person?

My three year old (let's say his name is Jake) knows his name and will refer to his items as "my ____" but today he came up to me and asked "Have you seen Jake's lunchbox?" looking for HIS lunchbox. I just thought it was odd.

Yes, completely normal. He hears others refer to things as “Jake’s” and he parrots that. It’s a normal aspect of language development.
