    k = ΔF / Δx = (500 - 0)N / (37.6 - 35)mm = 192 N/mm

    energy E = ½k(Δx)²

    and at T = 400 N, x ≈ 37 mm

    and so Δx ≈ (37 - 35) mm = 2 mm

    E = ½ * 192N/mm * (2mm)² * 1m/1000mm = 0.384 J

    and so I'd go with choice A.
