Rabbit hunting:  The cost of a simple firearm.  It can just be a used shotgun or .22 that might set you back anywhere from 100 to 250 dollars, depending upon the manufacturer, the action, and the condition.  Licenses rarely cost more than 50 dollars.  Add to that an orange vest, and you have a budget hunting experience

Obviously deer and bigger game will require a substantially more expensive firearm (at least 5000 dollars, unless you buy military surplus).  These game animals usually require a license plus a permit.  You can go all-out with special additional equipment and gear -- boots, camouflage, knives, ATVs, calls, deer stands, etc..

Bird hunting is more expensive than rabbit hunting, but usually less than hunting bigger game.  Shotgun, calls, maybe a blind.  Some people invest in dogs.

Out of country big game hunting costs tens of thousands of dollars and requires much advanced planning

That would depend on where you  go hunting, what you are hunting, and what you consider essential to take on a hunt.

There is not one set fee for all games in every state. Your equipment depends on what games you are going after and what are the environmental conditions of the location such as weather, wet or dry land, and how far from nearest place you can get food and supplies because if it is too far you are going to have to bring and carry it all.

For some people....hunting costs much more than it pays.
