If online degrees are much cheaper, why does everyone get the degree on campus?

There are clear advantages to studying in-person on-campus. And for sciences, unless you have a fully equipped lab in your basement, online classes are really worthless.

Some prefer the college social experience.  They want to learn, drink, have sex, and party.  And that can be much more expensive than studying at home on the interweb

College degrees have a market value.  A degree from Harvard is worth more (in the marketplace) than a degree from the University of San Diego.  Harvard costs a lot more, too!  An on-campus degree is worth more (in the marketplace) than an online degree.
