    In tha abstract (alone), it means land.

    an area or range of space where a thing applies and/or is true.  It has a very adjustable idea of limits, but there will be limits, a border of sorts that separates the area where the thing applies or is true, from the areas where it does not apply or is no longer true.

    An area, region, piece of land, and similar. It may be an area formally designated a 'Territory' in its name, or it may be simply a useful reference. Formal territories do tend to be a bit 'back of beyond', away from centres of population.

    A territory is an area, region, or section of land. Usually a ruler is in charge of this section of land.
