If your sentence is ending with a quote..?

Should I put the period at the end of the sentence before the quotation mark and then another one after like this .".

    If the punctuation is part of the quote, then the punctuation is placed inside and there is no additional punctuation placed after the closing of the quote.  Otherwise, the punctuation is placed after the closing quotation mark.

    Only one period is necessary. It should be within the final quote mark.

    If the period is part of the quote, it goes inside the quotation marks. If not, it goes outside.
