I just heard the CDC is recommending we cancel Christmas activities with family this year. How do I cope with the pain of this?

Thanksgiving so be it but Christmas? I have never heard of not having Christmas. Family is the reason for Christmas. Churches will likely be closed to because the 2nd wave will have hit. It means no church and no family, Christmas 2020.

How do I cope with the pain of this? Also how do I cope with the 3 months of dread until then?

NO CDC has NOT recommended canceling - the recommend assessing the situation maybe limiting the gathering size - and be cognizant or the covid issue in your area to help determine the extent of gatherings
