How thick is the Earth?

How far down do you have to drill to get to the shell of the Giant Tortoise?

It must not be beyond its radius.

The diameter if the Earth is about 8,000 miles.

Are you really asking about the thickness of the Earth's mantle?

Do you mean the Great Tortoise that's at the bottom of the stack of tortoises? Or the one below him?

Not very far at all.  I am sure if you went into your yard with a shovel, you could dig a hole through Earth to get to the tortoise.  But watch out for the elephants that hold Earth above his shell.  They poop in huge piles of you know what.
