Should pardoned felons with gun rights restored have the right to own a gun?

If they are pardoned, the felony conviction is thrown out and they are no longer a felon. Gun rights restored means just how it sounds, their gun rights have been restored.
A better question might be, "should pardoned felons have their gun rights restored?". Since a pardon is like the conviction never happened, the pardoned person has the same rights as everyone else.
