What happens if the mother dies while the baby's dad is in the Navy?

They both live in different states and the baby's dad is going into the Navy soon. The mom also has full custody of the baby.

What would happen if the mother commits suicide while the dad is in the Navy? Will he be notified even though he's in the Navy?

The grandparents 100% would definitely want to take custody of the baby if the mom died...

So what would happen if she committed suicide while the dad was in the Navy?

The least he can do is buy the ticket. If he loved his son he wouldn’t let you come without him!

As they are not in a formal relationship, he probably would not even be informed

Your question tells all. The competency of the grandparents will play a huge role in this scenario, and will probably be given custody of the child.

The father will be informed.   He has a right to know, and will have to pay for the child's well being.

Why do you suppose the mother would commit suicide?  That's a tad dramatic, don't you think?
