What is Marxism?
Republicans keep freaking out about 'trained Marxists' yet can't seem to explain what Marxism is. I feel like this is the modern day "Red Scare" that has been going on for 103 years, with little to show for it other than lost lives.
"Feel free to move to Russia or China if you want to if you think its all a big "Red Scare"."
Hey genius China is capitalist and Russia isn't communist.
Thank you for confirming my point that republicans don't know what Marxism is.
"You should have someone who has lived under Soviet communism to explain to you how the system works."
Except that wasn't the same thing. Why can't you republicans get that through your skull Soviet Russia wasn't Marxism, it wasn't even communism.

Those "Conservatives" as they call themselves and who always freak out have absolutely no clue about communism. Even things that are only social democratic or paternalistic conservatism are regarded as Marxism by them. They are either uneducated or scrupulous, manipulative liars. The truth is that all three parties (including the Libertarian party, which is the worst), but especially the Republicans, are funded by billionaires who do everything but to pay for propaganda lies and corrupting public office-holders in order to keep as much tax money as possible (like the Koch brothers).
And the Soviet Union was about state capitalism and not Communism. Marx was never in favor of a welfare/social state, and Marx was never in favor of an ever-existing political system where the Communist party holds on to power in government, society and economy.

Just me~Marxism is when the government determines what they feel is best for their societies...I do agree we have that in America yet not to the extreme of how countries have or had this. It's very uncomfortable to know that the government could give us what we want then take over our future liberties completely....and that folks is communism.

Marxism = the political and economic theories of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, later developed by their followers to form the basis for the theory and practice of communism.

It is an idea that every private business is prohibited. Every grocery store, medical facility, restaurant, and hair salon belongs to the government and is being managed by government officials. No democracy. No voting. It basically turns the entire country into a prison.

Marxism is a philosophy produced by Karl Marx based on other philosophies he studied. The conclusion/assumption that Marx arrived at is that everything is rooted in the form of economic organization or mode of production that influences all other social phenomenon. His thinking is that when social contradictions occur, the root cause to blame is the method of production that ends in class warfare and a social revolution which we are currently experiencing in the U.S.. While there are variants on original Marxism, such as Lenin's modified version, the practice fails every time because Karl Marx did not have the full picture or properly consider human nature that adds corruption to the mix. The other problem is that often self claimed Marxists see problems that do not exist, sort of creating their own causes out of thin air than actually viewing the reality of the problems that often includes mental health issues, lack of education and low drive on behalf of the individual. In the U.S. we have so many people who start at the bottom and work their way up to being successful people in both careers and self employment, something that Marxism kills. The Capitalist West has always out done the Marxist/Socialist/Communist societies by granting "personal freedoms" that get stripped by these other philosophies. China was economically hurting until the U.S. got involved to bring them to a level of Capitalism that lifted them out of that doom and gloom. Karl Marx certain saw valid connections between things but drew the wrong conclusion as to what those connections meant. Even if you know nothing about Marxism, it doesn't take long to see the negative effects of it. Marxism has been taught through our education system and now we are seeing the results in the highly irrational and childlike left that want to take a great country and tear it down. That is Marxism in a nutshell.

Cullors, who is a co-founder of BLM claims to be "trained Marxists." [See source.] A Marxist is one who buys into the Communist Manifesto which was written by Karl Marx. It only a few pages long, but it sets forth an idealized form of economics called communism. Worth reading if you really are interested in what Marxism is.
Ideal communism is egalitarian where every person is treated as an interchangeable commodity in the labor force. It is characterized by the saying, "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs." Ideally ownership of the means to produce goods and services is by the people as a whole, not the government, and not by a select few or individuals.
There has never been a true communist nation. All those who claim to be communist are really fascist dictatorships in practice even though they might be led by some form of Communist Party.
This naturally results because Marxism, ideal communism, is a highly flawed economic model. One of the flaws is that it treats labor as an interchangeable commodity...and it isn't. How would you like your local plumber performing brain surgery on you for example? Marx says that could happen.Source(s): The organization has received criticism for its extremist views, including co-founder Patrisse Cullors 2015 admission that she and her fellow co-founders are “trained Marxists.” “I actually do think we have an ideological frame. We are trained Marxists,” Cullors said [https://news.yahoo.com/black-lives-matter-removes-...
