    We have A = dV/dT = 14.7/1.5 = 9.8 m/s^2.  I'm guessing Ariel lives on that small rock near Sol.  I think they call it Urth or something like that.

    acceleration = change in velocity / change in time

    a = (v₂ - v₁) / t

    a = (14.7 - 0) / 1.5
