What makes Adenovirus different from COVID 19?

The Adenovirus has symptoms similar to COVID-19. According to a source on the web, there are more than 60 different types of adenoviruses. Symptoms can include: gastrointestinal upset, diarrhea, colds, bronchitis, pneumonia, respiratory distress, fever, sore throat, croup, conjunctivitis (aka pink eye)

From web: Governments around the world are making a big bet that the first vaccines for COVID-19 could be made with genetically engineered viruses. The engineered viruses, called adenoviral vectors, are designed to shuttle a gene from SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19, into our bodies

The fact that it's a different family of viruses is one difference.  The symptoms of rhinovirus (common cold) and influenza are very similar to Covid also, but they're not the same virus.

Adenoviruses affect children more often than adults, the symptoms usually last for only a few days, and it's hardly ever fatal.  People have died from it, but the numbers are so small they don't really qualify as a percentage.
