Why do you think the liberal media keep saying we have to get rid of the Electoral college?

I know the answer to that but what do you think.

Update:

To the anonymous who asked why should Fla. choose the President dumb question, but here goes.Hamilton explained that the election was to take place among all the states, so no corruption in any state could taint "the great body of the people" in their selection. The choice was to be made by a majority of the Electoral College, as majority rule is critical to the principles of republican government.

Because it is a popular topic and a good idea. Republicans will never go for it, you can’t win the presidency by alienating anyone who is not a “straight white christian male.”

The electoral college got Trump elected that's why.  Liberals ban things that don't go in their favor.

Because the Electoral college was design to stop foreign collusion out of our elections.

Trump proved it doesn't work when he colluded with Russians in 2016. So if it doesn't work, why keep it ?

That's an easy one.  They don't like the current system, and they want it replaced with proportional representation.   The PR electoral system gives more power to fringe parties (like the Greens) in the house and more power to the opposition in the White House.

NOTE:  The college system (known as the Westminster parliamentary system elsewhere) only used to elect presidents in the USA, not governments.  The liberal media don't hate the college system so much, they hate the first-past-the-post system.

OTHER NOTE:  They only complain about how unfair and rigged the system is when a conservative wins.  When a liberal wins, they never make a sound.

Maybe because votes should matter. It’s hard to explain that to a Russian. Their votes haven’t mattered for decades.

It's the majority of the American people who are saying that. Why should Florida be allowed to pick the president? Can you tell me that?

The Electoral College was deliberately designed to prevent the uneducated masses from making bad decisions. It was an elitist institution set up by elites to control elections. Abolish it now.

Cause they want only the three biggest States to decide Electio a. 3 biggest States though are Democrat controlled

Because the process produced a victor they didn't like.  What's funny is that a few pundits were predicting the opposite in the 2016 election - that Hillary would win the EC, but not the popular vote.   Wonder how the media would feel then?

Anyway, leftists will argue simply that we "should" get rid of it, appealing from some sense of democracy.  Every other elected position in the country utilizes the popular vote.  The Pres/VP positions do not.  Perhaps the framers of the process thought these positions should be treated differently.   It's also likely why they also put the task of SCOTUS confirmation in the Senate and not the House.

Well, I'm not American but ...

Candiate A recieves more votes than Candiate B, but B becomes President.

That's a pretty odd form of democracy.
