Cave crystal growth toward light?

I once heard of a cave that was completely dark, but crystals deep in that cave grow in the direction of where light WOULD come from if light did penetrate the cave. This would probably be in the direction of the opening to the cave. Has anyone else heard of this? Can you point me to scientific articles regarding this phenomenon?

There ARE cave crystals that grow at strange angles. However it is air currents, not light, that cause them to do so and those currents are quite rare.

I have not heard that and afaik it is false.

Perhaps you're think of the Naica silver and lead mine of central Chihuahua, Mexico where huge crystals of selenite were found.

Total nonsense.  Crystal growth is not influenced by light.  Even more is it not influenced by the absence of light.  Someone has been playing a silly joke on you.
