Are weighted blankets really any good?

Gimmick or claustrophobia inducing?

It really depends on the person, like a lot of coping mechanisms. Personally I like them but I can see how people could find them stifling.

Heavy blankets are really good because you can sleep well in comfort.

Personally I think it's a gimmick. I want the lightest possible sheets and blankets on me. BUT, if it gives some people some weird sort of comfort, good for them.

Holy Crud they are AWESOME!  I am not on the Autism spectrum,  but since my liver failure led to near total polyneuropathy,  my nerves are sensitive,  yet need stimulation.

A weighted blanket allowed me to sleep 8hrs for the 1st time in 7 years.

It's all dependent on the individual.

Gimmick. In the old days before duvets we had several blankets. Heavy and very hot. Restricted sleep, felt crushed.
