    1 eV = 1.60218*10^-19 joule

    E = 2.6 keV = 4.166*10^-16 joule = mp/2*V^2

    V = √ 2E/mp = √ 8.33*10^-16/(1,673*10^-27) = 7.06*10^5 m/sec

    2.6 keV = 4.16e-19 J = ½mv² = ½ * 1.67e-27kg * v²

    solves to

    v = 7.1e5 m/s

    To convert from keV to joules, divide by 1.6e-16
