Does anyone else think cars were a lot cooler looking in the 1940s and 1950s?

    They were before that like in the 20s.

    Sure. If I didn't I wouldn't go to car shows.

    Especially those after '55. This DeSoto had a HEMI V8 engine: Many Buick Wagons in late'50's had Dual Quads , stock. No one cared about  MPG in the US, at least.

    EDIT: Lotsa Cute Euro cars at least in late '50's.  Nash Metro was an English car. 

    EDIT: I wasn't "around" until '57 BUT that doesn't mean I cant admire a '39 Chrysler Airflow.
