Is psyllium husk as a substitute for cornstarch the same as the container used as a laxative?

Well surprised me it is a substitute.

1/2 Tablespoon will replace 1 Tablespoon of cornstarch.

Just make sure you get the plain not flavored

Psyllium is soluble fiber.  It is NOT a laxative.   It actually bulks up feces and can therefore be good for diarrhea as well as constipation.
