Two particles in a high-energy accelerator experiment are approaching each other head-on, each with a speed of 0.9340 c as measured in the laboratory. What is the magnitude of the velocity of one particle relative to the other?

    additivity of relativistic velocities:

    s = (v + u) / (1 + vu/c²)

    s = 2*0.9340c / (1 + 0.9340²) = 0.9977c
