    If you mean to study, try one of those really large ones- like UY Scuti -1700x the size of our sun.  Or maybe one about to supernova- like Eta Carinae. Those are the most interesting imo.

    If you mean literally pick one from the sky, then I recommend starting small. Apple picking season is here. Why not start there and work your way up?

    Stars are not from the sky. They are out in space light years away from Earth. To think of picking a star is the same as having your head in sci-fi movies which are imagination.
