Because rational people do some research before taking pills.  Perhaps you don't.

Premed, medical school, internship and general practice for 10-20 years.

Better question  - why are some people so damned stupid, that they think they know better than trained & experienced specialists, without having any background themselves?

Because they have years of medical training, and the pills have been vigorously tested.

Why would you trust the pilot and the airplane he/she flys ?

In both cases, they are the best we have got.

But it is your life, choose who you believe in. But maybe you should prepare an answer for when someone asks "Why?"
