Long Live the Legion.  First team to have a lot of female members (and it wasn't a romance comic!), first team to exploit diversity (though Shadow Lass had to be blue, not Black to satisfy distributors), first team to have enough characters that one could be killed off and stay dead (Ferro Lad).Since the Legion was set 1000 years in the future, the comic was mostly isolated from the rest of the DC Universe.  You could be a Legion fan without having to buy a lot of other books (though in the 1960s, there are many Legion cameos in Superman, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, etal).

First sub class of comics fandom to have a lot of female fans.  In 1980s, that included cosplay which was rare at the time.

The X Men this isn't really a fair question because the X Men always changed their rosters. The Avengers are ok depending on the issues but they're like the Justice League in that they're just independent story lines thrown together to sell another comic. The X-Men, Fantastic Four, and others are an actual team with their own backstory. Teams like TMNT, Cyberforce, Wild C.A.T.S., Power Rangers, Voltron have a dedicated storyline that doesn't need to reference independent comics.
