Maple Leafs, among teams in the NHL before the first expansion.

Buffalo and Vancouver have been in the league the longest without a championship, since the 1970-71 season. But Toronto has gone the longest; they last won in 1967.

The longest ever drought is 54 years (53 seasons), by the New York Rangers (1940-1994).
The longest active drought is 53 years (but only 51 seasons because of the lockout year) by the Maple Leafs (1967-2020). If the Leafs don't win in 2021 or 2022 then they'll have both the longest ever and the longest active drought.

Maple Leafs. They were doomed from the day the league expanded to 12 teams and they had to compete with more than just the Montreal Canadians for players.

Toronto Maple Leafs. I'd add that they won all their cups with 8 playoff wins. It's been 50 years since 8 wins was enough to be champs. You need to win double that to win the cup now.

The Toronto Maple Leafs haven't won the Stanley Cup in 53 years. There are a number of expansion teams that have never won it, but their championship drought isn't quite up to what Toronto has. The Buffalo Sabres and the Vancouver Canucks are the oldest expansion teams to have never won the Stanley Cup, they're both 50 years old.

Among pre-1990 expansion and WHA merger clubs, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Buffalo have never won. Among the post-second-war six franchises, Toronto has the longest drought.
