Why does my eye prescription change so fast?

I got new glasses in January that were -1.75 and -2.25. I recently started having trouble seeing again so I went back yesterday and my optometrist said they had changed to -3.75 and -4.25. It hasn't even been a year yet what's going on?

People with myopia often experience their eyeballs growing slightly longer, but eventually it settles down. Have you been doing a lot of close screen work? That certainly strains the eyes a lot.  Talk to your optometrist for more details asap.

I assume you are still rather young (likely under 20) and your eye ball is still growing. Your vision will only stabilize once your eyes have stopped growing.

Being short sighted means your eye ball is growing longer than it should.

Are you a diabetic? That can have a huge effect on your vision.

It seems what happened to me! In less than one year I went from - 1.50 to - 2.75 in both eyes

That is an unexpected change. How unexpected depends on your age.
