What was so special About the Roman Empire that it was talked about so much?

    They did a lot of things, built a lot of things, had under floor heating.  And to keep it all in check they built very straight roads on which to move ruthless well trained armies.

    Why don’t classes talk about Down syndrome more? It should be talked about, much more important to bring awareness to this than the Roman Empire.

    nothing , for unknown reasons modern intellectuals ( with zero pragmatic practical or real world ability) have decided that studying the roman empire , the egyptian empire the greeks and their mythologies and medieval art, classics, politics etc  are true intellectual  pursuits so universities and colleges have hundreds of thousands of students past and present whose brains are filled with useless and in many cases inaccurate information many of whom take their cluttered brains into government service where what they know unsurprisingly has no practical use

    It was civilization, and it gave us good architecture, the Latin language (which is the basis for many Western European languages and even contributed some to English), great literature and intellectual pursuits, and, above all, Christianity.
